When you call, Sunset Ranch will set up your first 1 hour lesson.  The cost is $135 and payable at the time of the lesson.  After your first lesson, you can talk to your instructor about continuing lessons, costs and packages available.

Dress requirement for first lesson: Long pants and closed toe shoes.  Sneakers are OK for the first lesson.  Helmets are required for all riders, if you don't have one we have them at the ranch for you to borrow free of charge.
One of LA's premiere horsemanship coaches, Eric Ancker has been working with beginning to advanced riders and owners at Sunset Ranch and around Los Angeles for over fifteen years. Offering private lessons in general horsemanship (both Western and English riding) with an emphasis on trail riding, natural horsemanship and the human/horse experience, he has over 30 years experience.

Whole Day Sunset Ranch Experience

Spend a whole day with Eric at Sunset Ranch doing everything from Saddling to scooping poop. Start your day off grabbing a horse and getting him ready for you two hour lesson in the area where Eric will make sure you have all the skills necessary for your ride thru Griffith Park after lunch.

Itinerary
  • Arrive at 9am
  • Catch, Brush, Saddle, Pick hooves
  • Arena Lesson (~2hrs)
  • Lunch
  • Afternoon ride (~3hrs)
  • Return to Sunset Ranch to Unsaddle, Brush and Rinse your horse.
$450 per person
